"My journey with birds began at the age of eleven, sparked by an endless curiosity for the wildlife of Costa Rica. What started as a childhood fascination has grown into a lifetime of intensive field research, self-directed ornithological study, and hands-on conservation across the South Pacific."

As a self-taught ornithologist, veteran field guide, and environmental educator, my expertise is rooted in thousands of hours spent directly in the forest—tracking vocalizations, analyzing micro-habitats, and documenting rare regional endemics.

Over the years, I have actively contributed to major conservation efforts in the region, including working with wildlife programs at Osa Conservation and leading specialized bird monitoring projects. My approach bridges rigorous field science with community engagement, empowering local youth through Detectives de Aves Osa in collaboration with educational frameworks like the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Whether leading private expeditions for international birders or directing local census projects, my mission is to share the wonders of Costa Rica’s avifauna while driving real, community-based conservation.
